Shipper/Receiver - Forklift Operator 

Department: Shipping and Receiving 

Reports to Shipping and Receiving Manager

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for:

​

• Perform daily inspections of lift trucks and complete required forms

• Ensure lift truck maintenance and servicing requirements are met

• Load and unload goods in a safe and efficient manner

• Maintain contact with supervisor(s) and work to resolve issues as they arise

• Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers

• Follow all regulations, company policies, and procedures

• Other duties as assigned by management

Required Skills:

The Shipper/Receivers are required to have:

​

• Forklift operation experience, license an asset

• Minimum one year of experience

• Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English

• Knowledge of basic mathematics

• Basic hand tool skills

• Must be highly organized

• Must be able to work in cold conditions

​

Physical requirements include: Ability to stack and lift up to 30 lbs. Sitting and driving for long periods of time, pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements.

 

Shipper and Receivers are required to work six days a week, Monday through Friday, flexibility is a key part of this position and Saturday or Sunday shifts maybe be required. They are required to have their own transportation, to and from work.
