Internal Logistics Supervisor

Reporting to Internal Logistics Assistant Manager and Internal Logistics Manager

​

Key Accountabilities:

• Coordinate load pickups and deliveries to warehouses from farms

• Comply with all company policies

• Ensure all employee's are following company policies

• Monitor employee performances

• Ensure adequate staffing levels for the department

• Ensure proper procedures are followed while loading and off-loading product

• Demonstrate knowledge of procedures and ensure a safe working environment

• Training & evaluating new AZ drivers

• Ensure processes for drivers are followed including cleanliness of trucks & trailers

Daily Responsibilities:

• Coordinating all AZ & DZ Drivers on scheduled shifts

• Driving company owned tractor-trailers, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations to transport and deliver products or materials, adhering to rules and regulations involved with the safe and legal operations of a tractor trailer.

• Maneuvering trucks and trailers into the loading or unloading position, following signals from the loading crew as needed on-site and off-site.

• Maintaining the driver log, paper or electronic, according to provincial and ministry regulations.

• Ensuring the loads are secured to the trailer wall at all times using load bars & straps.

• Notifying the Fleet Coordinator of any maintenance service is needed on the equipment.

• Inspecting the truck & trailers before, during, and after trips, while reporting any safety concerns to minimize security risk.

• Maintaining a clean truck inside and out on a daily basis, including regular sanitizing, fuel top ups, and removal of garbage and all personal belongings. (We may assign any truck to another driver in order to keep the truck in service).

• Ensuring that any safety item that is removed from the driver safety bag is replaced.

• Maintaining a clean driver abstract.

Schedule Expectations:

• This position has two different schedules that will rotate on a one-week basis on rotation with the other Internal Logistics Supervisor under the discretion of the Internal Logistics Assistant Manager.

  • SCHED 1 (Monday to Saturday) 7:00 - 4:00 PM

  • SCHED 2 (Monday to Saturday) 1:00 PM - 10:00 PM

• Any over time, beyond the agreed and set work schedule, must be discussed and approved by the Internal Logistics Assistant Manager before it is served.

• All vacation and time off requests are to be submitted via Synerion and will be reviewed by the Internal Logistics Assistant Manager. Considerations will be given in the event special circumstances arise.
