Dry Goods Procurement Specialist

Reports to Dry Goods Manager

The Dry Goods Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the sourcing and purchasing of packaging materials such as cardboard boxes, rigid containers (e.g., clamshells), stickers, and other essential supplies. This role ensures quality standards, optimizes costs, and maintains efficient inventory levels while working closely with suppliers and internal teams. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Identify and source reliable suppliers for packaging materials.

• Participate in management meetings and cover dry goods updates and planning.

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to secure the best value.

• Monitor inventory levels and work ahead to coordinate timely replenishment.

• Ensure all materials meet quality and compliance standards.

• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast packaging needs.

• Maintain strong supplier relationships and accurate records of purchases.

• Review packing slips and receiving tickets for accuracy and compliance.

• Review invoices and ensure proper billing and financial tracking.

• Coordinate farm dry goods deliveries for timely and efficient distribution.

• Oversee inventory counts and tracking in the Famous system.

• Work closely with our Mexican Dry Goods team to align sourcing, processes, and inventory strategies.

• Support the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all tasks within the dry goods department.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
